Our Computer Support Services are aimed at personal and small business users within a 10 mile radius of Bingham Nottinghamshire.

We have been involved with Computers since the early 1970's and have a wide level of experience will all levels of computer software and hardware.

Computers have now become part of our everyday life and are now sold as 'consumer' items. Unfortunately, computers do not necessarily 'act' in the same way as a radio or a TV. This causes frustation and in exteme cases the computer is 'dispatched' to the garage awaiting it's consignment to the tip.

Our service is aimed at solving those problems.

I have been a WINDOWS user since version 3.1 and have dutifully updated to the latest version, broadly as it was released.
Windows 3.1
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows ME
Windows 2000 (which I still run on two of my machines) and
Windows XP.
Given the cost of even the upgrade price of these operating systems I have made a significant investment in Microsoft Operating Systems over the years. I must say that I was (and still am) perfectly happy with Windows 2000 (I have not experienced any real failure), but I was persuaded to update one of my machines to XP Professional. My main computer is  perfectly capable of running  VISTA , but do I need it? I have come to the conclusion that NO, I DON'T. XP and Windows 2000 are providing the facilities that I need, VISTA has nothing that I want or need and the pricing structure,in my view, is unacceptable. Of course there will come a time when 2000 and XP are no longer supported and then I will have to review my decision, but in the mean time I happy with what I've got!

Chasing the latest in processors and operating systems is clearly what the manufacturers would like you to do, but the simple question you should ask is: 'Is my current configuration providing me with what I want'. If the answer is YES, stick with what you've got. Obviously, you need to keep asking yourself the same question and act accordingly in the future.

For me, I see no point in 'forking out' a lot more pounds (or dollars) for some thing I don;t need.

Anti-Virus programs The Internet is a great source of information - it is also a source of viruses. In todays on-line experience you cannot get by without a good Anti-Virus program, but which one?
To VISTA or not to VISTA that is the question? I have been a WINDOWS user since version 3.1 and have dutifully updated to the latest version, broadly as it was released.
